Sallie Mae Medical School Loan Program
This program offers financing through Stafford Loans and the Medical Loans
Private Loans Program. The Stafford Loan
program provides money saving benefits and flexible repayment plans. The Medical Loans Private Loan provides
additional financing at competitive rates.
To be eligible for the Medical School Loan Program, you must meet all of the criteria
listed below:

Enrolled at a school of allopathic or osteopathic medicine at least part-time

A U.S. citizen or permanent resident

The Medical School Loans Residency and Relocation Loan Program
You can finance the costs associated with residency interviews and
relocation up to $25,000. Applications are accepted only between August 1 and
June 15 during your final year of school.
To be eligible for this loan, you must be in your final year at a allopathic or osteopathic school of
medicine and will earn an M.D. or D.O. degree in the same academic year that you apply for the Medical
School Loans Residency and Relocation Loan.
If you are a non-citizen permanent resident, you must submit a copy of the front
and back of your CIS Form I-551.
