|
Getting Started
Below are some general guidelines to begin your application process. For more
details or if you have any questions, contact your school’s financial aid
office, call
1-800-239-4376 or
Applying for Student Loans
-
Obtain financial aid information from your school’s Financial Aid Office.
Complete and submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to
determine how much you are eligible to borrow. For more information on Student
Loans, click on the Federal Loans link on the left. Or visit
www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to list Dollar Bank, Pittsburgh, PA as
your lender and enter 822583 as your lender code.
-
Once your eligibility to borrow has been determined by the Financial Aid
Office, you’ll receive an Award Letter from your school informing you of
the loan type and amount you’re eligible to receive.
-
Your completed application will be reviewed and begin to be
processed.
-
You will then be mailed a copy for each approved loan of the Notice of Loan
Guarantee and Disclosure statement informing you of the anticipated
disbursement date(s).
-
A disbursement check will be electronically transferred or mailed on the
anticipated dates to your school for the approved amount less the origination
fees. Normally it takes two separate disbursements to distribute the full funds
of all loans.
